Beware. Contract - you sign up - they aren't staffed appropriately to fulfill your monthly sessions obligation. They have plenty available during the day - but at night...not great if you work Two cancellations - same day. However, if a member cancels - so sad too bad. Manager - does not return calls/communications. Maybe in over her head. I had to escalate very high to get any attention. I tried to cancel 2x - but, funny, the cancellation didn't "happen." The only saving grace was the therapists. However, that opinion changed last week. Last week, I went in for a rescheduled massage. Not my regular - but I just want to be done with Massage Envy and get my commitment done. The therapist hurt me really bad. I had to ask to lighten up 2x. I ended up with bruises on my my upper back. He only massaged my back - 90 minutes. No shoulders, arms, head... I get that he was new. But, this was tough. There are far better places that you can go that are dependable, honest and follow through on commitments.

The whole point of a massage is to relax you and this location is nothing but wasted time and stress. Sarah (manager) is absolutely useless in handing any customer concerns. When I first moved here, I booked a bunch of appointments. This location never answers the phone, so it was a struggle to get someone on the phone. I came in for my first session and was told the massage therapist doesn't use the Hyperice massager, so they canceled my appointments and didn't even let me know. I found out later that person refused to use the Hyperice massager way before my appointments were scheduled. Then I had Martha who was a wonderful, top notch massage therapist but she moved back to CA. One of my appointments with Martha was canceled but I came in because no one bothered to let me know. Sarah's response to customer complaints is an "oh well" approach and blaming staffing issues. Staff doesn't want to work evenings or weekends. No apology, no compensation. I told the Woodbury location manager who was at this location training staff and she was apologetic and gave me a free 30-min session for my troubles. Why would another manager be training Sarah's staff anyway? Then I was put with Chad. One night Sarah said, "we're trying to find another therapist for you because Chad doesn't feel like he's a good fit for you." Chad never mentioned this to me. The reason is Chad didn't want to work evenings. They have evening/weekend appointments but discourage staff to book them. Then when there are no appointments, everyone gets to go home. I never said anything until after this event occurred, but for the record Chad acted very fake towards me and just gave average massages. He told me I have a "lightning bolt of tension" and that a prossage/Biofreeze application was needed. He could have easily added that 10-minute application as I was his last client for the evening. I guess they don't care about the customers or making extra money. Chad may have been there for many years, but he is not skilled nor professional. I complained to corporate. Sarah's response was to cancel all of my appointments and attempt to cancel my membership. She said there are no therapists at the Maple Grove location for me. This location should just be shut down. The therapists run the show and do whatever they want. Sarah caters to the therapists and ignores the customers. It really makes the brand look bad. The owners own multiple successful locations in the south so this location I guess doesn't matter to them because the owners never bothered to call me.

The absolute worst service ever. Never anything available. So I'm paying for a membership that I can't ever use. When I call for help I'm told to call every location to check. No one is willing to help

I’m usually one who likes to leave reviews when I have had a positive experience, however, this experience was so terrible I figured I had to do my due diligence. I cancelled my membership here back in January 2022 due to inability to schedule and the fact that I had moved, or so I thought. Apparently, they lost my cancellation paperwork, and I noticed my card was still being charged. I attempted to call the Maple Grove location many times, with no answer, left a message, no callback. Attempted to contact the Plymouth location since no one answers the phone over at Maple Grove, which they also confirmed, and indicted they could not help me since they are franchised. I FINALLY reached a nice lady named Josie at the Maple Grove who told me her manager would be in the next day and would give me a call back. Well, that day came and went, and no one called. I followed up the next Monday and someone actually answered the phone, a woman named Sara, who refused to tell me if she was a manager or not. Instead of apologizing for not processing my cancellation properly and discussing the payments that had been taken out of my account and the credits remaining which I was utilizing, she continued to argue with me the entire time back and forth getting absolutely nowhere. Not only did she not apologize for their lack of processing my cancellation properly, but then wanted to charge me for services after the fact and accused me of a “witch hunt” when I asked for her name since I clearly needed to take better records of my interactions with this place. Completely unprofessional and I would personally look elsewhere for massage services.

Company policy is the worst. I have 90 minutes left there that the staff can not allow me to use because company policy will not allow me to use up the credits I have already paid for without an active credit card on file (for them to pull more money out). I am trying to use up me credits because after you cancel your membership, your credits expire in 30 days. I had a 90-minute massage scheduled today and I have 90 minutes of credit that they have already pulled from my acct. I walked in today for my 11AM appt and was told that because I did not reply to the text they sent and because I do not have an active CC on file, they canceled my appt. This to the worse Company Policy . Not good for the consumer. Buyer beware if you sign up for a program here. Easy to sign up. VERY Hard to get out without loosen money or spending more. Nice People but BAD company policy.

Horrendous. Called many many times, multiple times a day to try and rebook the appointment THEY canceled on me an hour before my appointment time. Manager was incredibly rude and very unhelpful. Essentially called me a liar because her front desk staff couldn’t do their job and she didn’t know I called…. Ridiculous. Ended up calling Plymouth who got me in the NEXT day. Also contacted corporate and to elevate this ridiculous customer service. WILL not ever be back.

Don't waste your time. I've scheduled a massage there twice now. Both times I re-arranged my work schedule to make the appointment work and both times they canceled the massage at the very last minute. (Not covid related either time, just poor scheduling and staff) Save your time and go somewhere reliable. I highly recommend Just For Me spa in Stillwater, it's a bit of a drive, but worth it compared to this joke. It's unfortunate because I get a massage every month and was trying to find somewhere closer than my regular Just For Me Spa, but Massage Envy made me a lifetime customer anywhere else but there.

During the pandemic I had the monthly dues taken out for 4 months before stopping in to freeze the account. I had 6 hours in the bank. I received a text today that unless I cancelled immediately I would be charged the higher rate If you cancel you lose your massages unless you sign back up within the year. I’m out 550 dollars and they didn’t offer any options. The franchise wouldn’t help correct this! Stay away from Massage Envy!!!

Overall a bad experience with a membership. The massages received over the past couple of years are decent. The sessions I’ve had with therapists that smoke are super unpleasant. The main complaint is with membership. My schedule, plus limited therapist availability (before Covid), has made it difficult to get regular messages so I’ve built up a stock pile of 9-11 paid, unused sessions over the past two years. However, there’s no way to catch up. If I freeze the membership, I cannot use the sessions. If I cancel, I lose all the sessions I’ve paid for. This cycle that I’ve found myself in makes it very difficult to cancel. At some point I’ll just have to cancel and eat the cost of the paid sessions. Their policies are not flexible and it makes it feel like I’m trapped. Very frustrating. Be cautious about joining. It would be best to simply pay as you go... if you can find an available appointment.

My wife and I have been members over 9 years. In summary, I'd look elsewhere. If you are wondering why we have been members so long if we're unhappy, it's because we were trying to use up our built up sessions. My wife finally used up her backlog of sessions and cancelled her membership last year and I've been trying to use up the sessions I've built up so I can cancel mine. It's hard to get in (I have 12 sessions built up) to the good therapists. My last two appointments were cancelled because the therapist wasn't available. Booking at any of the three closest locations for a therapist above average in deep tissue is at least a week out add a couple cancellations and you can't get ahead. I've even reached out to management to ask if I could pause membership to use up my backlog. They aren't flexible. I've gifted sessions to others but you can only do one per month and there's an extra charge. Overall the therapists are decent or at least try hard, but because there isn't a baseline for massage style/pressure, etc. one therapists idea of deep tissue is another's somewhat firm pressure. The therapist tells the front desk what their good at and there doesn't seem to be a check/balance to confirm it. I've had at least 7 cases where I book a deep tissue and when the therapist asks what type of massage I want (deep tissue), they've responded that they only do Swedish or light pressure. The therapist usually does a good job trying to do a good job, but even through I've mentioned the 'disconnect', and that they have a system broken, the front desk staff (one claimed she was an assistant manager) state that it's not their fault because that's what the form says. One older therapist shared that she can only physically do a Swedish massage and that she has tried to get the 'form' fixed but that management won't listen/get the system fixed. She did a good job but I felt bad for her because I knew she was trying to use a firmer pressure than she could do. Clearly a management/system issue. Seems to be a lot of turnover and if you do find a good therapist, word must travel fast as they are hard to get into after just a few months. I've had a few times where even though they called to confirm the session the day before, I showed up and they didn't have it on file. Another example is when I scheduled a reflexology session (foot massage)...the front desk said they had an excellent reflexology therapist that could do a full hour...when I got to the room, the therapist says that she can only do 15 minutes max because it's such a hard massage and that the front desk shouldn't be scheduling her for these anyway. To use up sessions, I tried a stretching session for 60 minutes and 30 minutes in, she shared it's the first time anyone has done 60 minutes and she doesn't really have any other stretches and wasn't sure why they book hour sessions for stretching. I did receive an email thanking me for my loyalty a few years ago, I think it was an upgrade to a aromatherapy or something like that...when I mentioned it at my next appointment they said I couldn't get the upgrade because I needed to print off the email for it to qualify... really?? a member that's been with you 9+ years, needs to print an email to get loyalty rewards?? When I shared ideas or concerns with the front desk, I've offered that if management cares, they are welcome to give me a call do discuss...I've never been contacted and yes..., I've requested that management give me a call to discuss with them...I've never heard from them...which is why I'm doing a public post. - Adding to my post after I received an email from 'clinic0537.' I was looking forward to a dialogue but it turned out to be a request to have me change my complaint to either Plymouth or Rogers and not the Maple Grove one. It speaks for itself to say that the email came from a generic 'clinic0537', wasn't personally signed (I have no idea who reached out to me)...and...if I had questions they cared enough to provide the general number.
