I made a reservation for a car on July 8th for my trip September 17-22. I got the confirmation email and THOUGHT everything was just fine. However, when we went to pick up the car the gentleman said he had no cars for us and called other locations and they also didn’t have any cars. He never called to let us know there would be no car available for us. All he said was I’m going to have to cancel the reservation because we close at 12 as if I didn’t need a car for my trip. Luckily I was able to call Avis in Springfield and they thankfully were able to give me a car. Never coming here again.

Unfortunately I had to wait 45 mins for a vehicle it was no fault of the staff the website claimed vehicles were available when they had none. PRO TIP call in advance.

Went to hillside on route 22 to pick up a rental car. Insurance is to pay 40 dollars a day while my car is in the body shop. When I go pick up the rental car the guy tells me it's 42.75 a day for the car. I have to pay the 2.75 a day out of my pocket. He than wants me to purchase Insurance for 16 dollars a day. I told him no because my insurance told me I would be covered. He then said all insurance companies say that. He didn't want anything else to do with me once I turned down the 16 dollars a day for insurance. He didn't want to inspect the vehicle with me that I was picking up and he never explained anything about where the registration and insurance was for the vehicle I was picking up. Horrible customer service.

I will never rent fro enterprise again. This was my first time renting from the hillside location and I had the worst customer service ever. I rented a car for 2days plus insurance but I got in an accident the very next day and road side assistance picked up the car on the day of the accident (day 2), enterprise charged me for 4 days plus insurance and has refused to refund me the 2 days, I have called over 10 times, every time I call Jose has a different story for me

The “manager” Jose lacked professionalism and refused to speak to us. The absolute worst terrible customer service experience I have ever had.

I rent a car once a month and the service is usually great but this time I was given a car that was a huge eye sore. The car was in garage therefore I didn’t see it until he drove it out. The car was a Neon orange Dodge Charger, I immediately explained I didn’t feel comfortable or safe driving the vehicle. I asked if I could receive a different car to which the representative tried to tell me I couldn’t by first saying the cars weren’t available, second telling me it would be more expensive and finally I said I don’t care this is my safety. I had to pay an extra $10 to downgrade to a smaller vehicle which I honestly feel is ridiculous. The safety of the passenger should always come first. Also my pickup time was for 7:30 and I wasn’t help until 8:00. I even filled out the paperwork in advance but had to wait. No walk around was done to check for damage or fuel amount. I was given the keys and told the red one is yours. I feel that the representative was overwhelmed and couldn’t handle the workload between the phone ringing and customers in person. He was only one at the shop therefore Enterprise should think about putting a second person on site or having someone who works better in the position. I gave 4 stars because normally my experience is great but this time new person bad experience.

This is our first time using this location here in Hillside. We usually go elsewhere but this time, they were the only location that had something available. We picked up the car and it is evident that it was not cleaned or at least not cleaned throughly. Automatically upon getting into the car, there was a straight & STRONG cigarette/Black & mild type of smell present in the car. We began to start cleaning it ourselves, spraying down the seats & wiping down the door handles that had some minor stuff on it. As we were cleaning, I came across a clear container on the floor in between the seats. Whoever had the car prior must have bought a new iPhone case or something that came in the container. All this makes it clear that the car wasn’t really cleaned out the way it was claimed to be during such a time as this pandemic. A better job could have been done. As of now, we don’t really plan on returning to this location.

Avoid this place . We made a reservation for a suv to comparable to a RAV4. We showed up and we’re told we’d be getting a Outlander Sport which is a compact suv. Frustrated I requested a bigger car, which I was told sure it’d be an up charge for a vehicle that is comparable to a RAV4 the original request. They gave me a GMC Terrain , they thought I’d drive it off the lot while it was dirty, not sure if they expected me to clean it myself but they hosed down the outside. I looked in the car and it was dirty so I proceeded to use Lysol wipes to wipe down the whole inside of the car while in front of the Enterprise employees. Sadly this did nothing to mitigate the weird nasty smell inside. The rep who gave me the car said there would be a quarter tank of gas according to the previous driver since they don’t check. Sadly I made it off the lot without checking and noticed it was at less then a 1/8th a tank. Just an overall not pleasant experience. And when your paying good money you expect good service and a clean car.

I had a very good experience here. The customer service was great, very friendly staff. I had to keep my car an extra day, it was taken care of with one short and simple phone call. When I bought the car back I received a ride promptly. This location will be my preferred rental agency from now on when visiting NJ.
