I saw too many bad reviews and I thought I should post up my 2¢. Global Food's main strengths are variety of selection and low prices. They have a great selection of fresh vegetables including uncommon vegetables that you could not find at a Food Lion, Wegmans, or Fairway. This great and wide selection extends to the meat department, seafood department, and all the various dry good, snacks, etc in the store. Pick a country, they probably got it here. Additionally, I believe this is the only actual place with a butcher and fishmonger in Woodbridge. You cannot beat the selection here and you won't get it anywhere else. I love showing up after work, picking a few fish up, getting them cleaned right in front of me, and then picking up some vegetables for and easy and fresh weeknight meal. This all said Global Food's weakness as others have pointed out is the lack of hand holding. If you want something find it yourself, you need to be independent, and you will need to express a grasp of a variety of languages if you talk to staff. If you can't tolerate an unmanicured environment this is not for you. If you can't tolerate a swath of different foods, cultures, and languages this is not for you. If you are deeply offending by a lack of "good morning sir, may I take your coat for you" this is not for you.

My first visit here and I was impressed! The vegetable department is bigger than anything I have seen in this area and everything looked good. I didn't have time to go through the store and I will be coming back soon.

Unfortunately, I have to revoke my previous positive review. Recently I went in with my mother and ordered an appetizer for my meal and an entree for her. She went to the restroom and I asked for a Styrofoam cup to have some tea they offer to eat-in customers while I waited for our food. My mother returned from the restroom and also requested a cup. The cashier pointed at me and said I already got a cup for tea and would not give her another cup. Very disappointed. Food here has always been good but if you can't offer your paying customers a 5 cent cup to fill with for what amounts to hot water, I'm guessing this isn't the business for you and it won't be much longer now before you close your doors and any money spent here will be wasted.

People here are extremely rude and unwelcoming. Smells horrible and place is old and dirty. I usually go to Fresh World which I highly recommend. They have one in Manassas and Woodbridge. I only go to Global Food because it's along the way but I absolutely can't stand the place. They are racist too.

Global Food is a great place to buy groceries and fresh food. They have Korean,Japanese,Jamaican,Spanish,Vietnamese foods and more. They have a great fresh fish/Seafood area with great catches like snapper,catfish,shrimp and lobster. There are also eateries in the front of the store where you can buy prepared and freshly cooked Korean,Vietnamese and Mexican dishes and also a place to get Boba Tea,coffees and teas. You can get it for take out or choose to sit in the little eateries sitting area. They have big portions and the food is delicious.

Not the easiest shopping center to navigate. Lots of parking spaces but the ones closest to the store are always taken and many are cluttered with shopping carts. Store is always crowded. A vast selection of products. Many not found elsewhere. Specializes in African, Asian and Hispanic products. Hot foods, mainly Korean, are available cafeteria style. A real butcher shop is on site catering to the international community although prices are high. the seafood department has a very large fresh fish assortment. They will prepare your whole fish however you want. Very good prices. Usually large head on shrimp is $4.99 lb. Wide selection of international produce at so-so prices. Unlike Walmart Global always has many cash registers open and staffed with a cashier and bagger. No self checkouts! Even so lines can be very long. I've seen customers in line with 2 or 3 carts full and sales over $200. One final observation... the store needs a remodeling. Freezers are old, condenation clouds many of the doors and leaks water all over the floor. The fixtures are also old, dirty, sticky and rusty. Floors are dirty and has many missing tiles. Aisles are narrow and always crowded. And the odor in the back half of the store is horrible. We only go to Global because it's 10 minutes from home. We prefer the LA Mart in Springfield.

This global Mart is a well kept secret tucked away in the back of the plaza. If you're a cook professionally or privately, this market has some of the best ingredients you can find in the area. This is the only 'real' butcher and seafood market in the area, and I have to show love to the Korean bakery as soon as you enter. The places fixtures are a bit worn down, but who cares - you're there for the food. You can find multiple specialty overseas items such as brand name Korean, Japanese, Philippine, and Middle eastern snacks, drinks, spices, flours, and on and on.

I go to the one in Woodbridge mostly to buy some uncommon vegetables, fruits and fresh fish. They have a vast variety of fresh and dry produce including fruits and vegetables from different countries. You can find all kinds of fresh and live fish as well as other crustaceans. The prices are good for most of the items except ordinary things like milk, yogurt, canned goods etc that you can find in any other store.
