The Phone Cellar

Horrible operation! Sells defective products. Buyer beware. Do not buy-you will regret it. I purchased a PS5 through them and received it with a bad HDMI port. It was an additional $200 to repair the console. They do not cover return shipping and hold your for 10-14 days after they receive the return. Complete scam operation. Please avoid. ~Derek

Apple Williamsburg

Great experience! Friendly service. I had my electric scooter and was able to come right in with it to take care of my business. Friendly employees, I was helped promptly and got my order within minutes. Clean store, very hip ambiance all around. Plenty of space although there were quite a few people shopping. I bought the iPhone 13pro for filming and art tutorials. ~Dave

New Skyline Wireless

On Tues 3/1/22 around 4pm. I went into skyland to get my iPhone SE screen replaced. I walked in and asked specifically if he replaced IPhone SE screens and he said yes. I took the phone out of the case. Unlocked it with the home key to look at it one last time then gave it to him. I also asked if it would maintain the same water resistance and he said “I just put the screws back in.” I said ok. He told me to be back in an hour. I went home and fell asleep. Wed 3/2/22 around 1:45/2p maybe. I went back the next day during because my job took me through the area that day so when I went back to pick it up, the screen was changed however the home key didn’t work OR recognize my prints. I brought it to his attention and then told him I’d be back after work to pick it up. 4p-ish, later that day, I returned after work and he gave me the phone with the old broken screen and told me the home key was like that and was trying to send me on my way after enabling the accessible feature that works around the physical home key. He denies damaging it although I only went in for the broken screen, NOT a dysfunctional home key. I asked him to Google it, research it or ask any friends about it, maybe they know something he doesn’t but he refused and said he fixes these phones all the time. I said you broke my phone for free, I may as well pay you the money to fix the screen atleast. He did that and I waited and noticed he used a couple of screens from different manufacturers. When he returned my phone the print reader worked but the button still doesn’t. Then he turned around and said “I CAN ORDER YOU A NEW HOME BUTTON”. unacceptable! And there are cameras in the store so I’m sure one saw me access my phone. ~RR

Verizon Authorized Retailer - TCC

This retail store is unprofessional. The two sale people try to be nice and support the customers walking in to the store. The problem is that they are not offering plans at the honest rates and are promising Verizon perks and discounts that are not valid. 1. I had opened a Verizon mobile business acct and was told I will pay $35/month. I was surprised when my first statement arrived and I was paying $45+ some features that I didn't request for $75/month. When I asked verizon about the $35 plan they said there was no such an offer available. 2. One year later I walked in to the store to purchase a new phone, as my screen was cracked and I had received multiple email offers from Verizon on trade-in options. The rep in the store confirmed that if I purchase a new phone and trade in my old one, I can receive between $300-$400 back as a credit on my acct. I showed him the cracked screen, and the rep at Atlas Communications waved away my concern and said I can still get the full value of the phone if I trade it in. I sent it back to verizon after following all instruction, and received an email stating that my phone was either cracked or not functioning and that will receive $7.50 credited. Wow what a disappointment. The store rep was not offering any help when I called to follow up on this. ~Rachel

Sam's Discount

I am a Costco member and I normally would shop there but I got a free membership for a year due to a promo, so I gave this club a try. The parking lot is shared with Walmart just right next door and it’s massive. You shouldn’t have any hard time finding a spot but during busy hours, it might be harder to find one next to the entrance. Like Costco they have their house brand of items and an affordable food court near the checkout. The offerings are not as good as Costco and it most feels like buy at Walmart in bulk with a small discount. What I really like about Sam’s Club over Costco is that you can use their app to scan items as you shop and checkout in app without having to go to any register. You just show the staff member your barcode as you leave, so much better than dealing with lines at the register. They also offer home delivery for a small fee or free curbside pickup which saves so much time. Their ready made meals like sushi, salads, etc are decent and very affordable. They run promotional discounts on their membership all the time and worth trying if you can get one that is close to free. Not sure if I will renew because they don’t have a lot of the items that my family enjoys but the shopping experience is pretty decent. ~Tommy
