16 Best convenience store in Charleston, South Carolina (SC) 2024

Always friendly, great selection of craft beer, decent wine self for a convenience store this size.... Accepts Samsung pay.... has all the sodas and snacks anyone could want. Supposedly it's a hot lottery spot; What else is there to say? They also sell bowls and stuff for tobacco use only if you're into that too! Highly recommended. ~Robb

They have a new staff with awesome customer service and very helpful especially Kerri she always brighten my day with her pretty smile and fun bubbly personality. ~kerri

The pharmacists are always prompt and professional. Even when they are busy my wait isn’t long. I really like the CVS deals on the Extra Care card and the app is helpful as well as convenient. The reason I am writing this review is Ms. Cathy one of the cashiers up front. I left my debit card and she was kind and diligent enough to save it for me! I really appreciate her for this because my bank takes at least a week to send another one! Ms. Cathy is my hero this week! ~Constance

RUDE RUDE RUDE!! EDIT: I told the ladies at the new station I go to what happened & they knew exactly who I was referring to because she was fired from The Scotchman for being Rude. I can't spell it correctly but I recognized it: JAMIYAY. This ONE girl who is fairly new has been rude to me EVERY SINGLE TIME!! I go there every other day & I haven't had ANY issues with the other employees in the last 14 years but this girl gets mad at ME because SHE can't find my cigarettes, or SHE can't scan my electronic coupon. She Yelled at me last Sat, July 2nd, 4:30pm, because a case of beer busted open & they fell on the floor. (That was not my fault). I let them know about it & she expected me to go pick them up... ugh, NOT today Ms Rude. This day, there were 4 employees behind the counter & 1 outside (they can). Usually there's 1 and a line of 10 people waiting. Finally, I stood up for myself & I told the girl "You're Always Rude to Me!" Her reply, "CUZ YOU BE HOLDING UP MY LINE"! Wth? She even gets mad if I need a receipt!! I'm SO tired of her rude & abusive nature that I'm scared to even go in there if she's working!! Please train your employees to BE KIND or leave! I will be calling the owner and I sincerely hope she's fired! She should not be working in customer service. She's Horrible & I'm not the only person she treats this way. I'll edit this review when she's fired... I'm telling everyone until then. ~Jen

The Five & Dime General Store on Market Street in Charleston is a great place to find a cool drink, a snack, or cool items at good prices. This store has a lot of different items on display from essential items that you could use in an emergency if you are need or just random fun items that you can purchase. The store is relatively large and wide open and is easy to walk through and find a new surprise around every corner. I like general stores like this because you never know what you will find and most items are cute and entertaining. The checkout process is usually pretty quick and efficient even though the line can back up when it is busy. I have always had a good experience every time I have been here. ~Evan

An honest review: The newest technician (Cara) treated me like I was an inconvenience for coming to the window to order my prescriptions and turn in my insurance information. She said multiple times “I can’t hear you.” I was speaking as loud as I could but she didn't open the window so there wasn’t really anything more I could do. I tried repeating myself several times for her. She sighed heavily and walked away to say something (I’m guessing a complaint about me) to the other staff, then came back and chided me for holding up the line. My husband has also been treated rudely when he tried to pick up his prescriptions so I don’t think it was just one bad day, I know we all have those at times. The other pharmacists have always been kind and helpful but after dealing with Cara the last few times we are more than ready to move elsewhere for our prescriptions. ~Emily

9am to 5pm can't be the way this gas station is gonna stay. Atleast i hope not or say goodbye to being able to fuel up with the boat early in the am or the day before after work.......NOT HAPPY......... ~Eric

Stop here while on my way to make a delivery at Pepsi and they closed the mens restroom at a Truck stop. A word for the boss most truckers are guys, if it's not broke or being cleaned leave the restroom open ~Archangel
