Home Services at The Home Depot

I purchased cabinets through Home Depot. I had to change consultants twice due to unprofessionalism. After providing perfect measurements to the designer, we were inundated by a couple errors. The most egregious being a miscalculation on a counter top extension. The designer provided with those dimensions based on the dimensions of the space and cabinet piece. Only the designer knew the cabinet dimension so I relied on her to provide accurate numbers. The stone was cut too wide based on the dimensions provided. The Home Depot store manager insisted that they are not liable for this mistake since Home services were not used to install everything and I even got the response that I did not provide our existing counter top numbers. A bold-faced lie. We also had a cabinet that was too wide. In addition to the failures by Home Depot, we had numerous quality issues with American Woodmark cabinets. Their customer service and representative response was deplorable. Back and forth trying to get them to replace flawed or damaged pieces. Home Depot has to initiate everything with Woodmark which they failed at miserably. We spent around $12,000 at Home Depot in the past 3 months and feel very dissatisfied. Makes me want to boycott them and shop at their competitor even though they are much farther away. My suggestion to anyone looking to buy a kitchen. Look to a professional kitchen and bath company as you will potentially run into problems with Home Depot. ~Chad

The Tile Shop

The good part of my experience with The Tile Shop was salesman Albert Ankisiba. I had two bathrooms to renovate to make them handicap accessible for my wheelchair bound wife. Albert provided guidance in making the perfect tile selections for a safe environment. The bad part of my experience was with the hard line 90 day from purchase policy on returning tile. If a renovation goes as planned, then 90 days is fine. Unfortunately, the contractor that was recommended to me ended up being a loser. The contractor dragged his feet for more than three months then left me with shoddy craftsmanship and a bathroom disaster. Then I had to find a new contractor that could fix the pathetic work and take care of the tile work. The day after the work was complete, I took back the unopened full boxes of tile that were not used in the renovations. The Tile Shop employee advised me that since I was way beyond the 90 day return period they would not accept the unused tile, despite explaining my circumstances. I asked to speak to the Store Manager but was told he was on a phone call. I'm sorry Tile Shop but sometimes you have to do the right thing with respect to customer service after hearing what the customer had to endure during the project. ~Russell

The Home Depot

Close to home and always an easy trip to get much needed repair parts to keep home running well. Sometimes a bit disorganized but mostly everything you need in stock. I always check online first and the stock listing is typically accurate so you don't waste a trip to find what you need is out. Shipping is flawless of you need to order online. Nordstrom Rack

This store is located in the mall with it's own exterior entrance which is nice but having to find parking space can be challenging. The other one in Dulles area near the Dulles Town Center is in a shopping center which is better, in terms of parking. This store is seems smaller than Dulles one. The young ladies at the registers were so nice and helpful. I really appreciate the customer service since it seems to be packing at so many places. I came in to return a pair of shoes I got online. They were able to quickly looked up by the order number, and credit the amount back to my credit card. Such a fast, simple and pleasant process. Thanks!! ~Tilly

Sunoco Gas Station

Brad and his team of mechanics saved the day when my truck started to violently shake on the highway near Springfield. I exited the highway and was turned away by the first service station that I tried because it was too close to closing. The front left wheel was super hot, smoking and leaking fluid. I called the Saratoga Sunoco and they told me to come on by. They had my truck on a lift in just a few minutes and diagnosed the problem. They had to replace a brake hose, pad, caliper and rotor on the front left wheel. In less that two hours we were back on the road running smoothly again. They saved the day for myself and my daughter. We could have been stranded. Thanks Brad! And the team at Saratoga Sunoco! ~Preston

Virginia Tire & Auto of Springfield

We have been using Virginia Tire and Auto of Springfield since we moved to this area in 2007. Both my husband's and my car have been regularly maintained and repaired at this shop, and we were consistently pleased with the quality, timeliness and cost of their services. But currently (Jun 2022) we have found it woefully undermanned, overwhelmed and unable to handle the workload in a timely manner. Frustrations begin with disconnects in scheduling and continue through miscommunication between staff. Their corporate online scheduling system is apparently not connected with actual workforce availability at the local sites, which has resulted on two occasions in the past 6 months of us showing up to drop off our car for an appointment, only to be told they actually can't see us for another week. Next, communications amongst staff members is disjointed, resulting in us having to repeat the description of the issues to multiple times. It is clear that the workforce is inadequate for the workload they are being signed up for. If this was just once or twice, we would be happy to stick with them. They have all the maintenance records on our cars. But we have used their service more than three times this year already. And the situation has not improved. It appears our only option will be to take our business elsewhere. ~Akiko

pay close attention to what I'm going to tell you never take your car to this mechanic shop they will deceive you I had a horrible experience with a gas station, they give you a price for your car service and later on then call you to say they made a mistake and they will charge you much more, the mechanic manager will not call you and will not give you any satisfaction about your car, please never go to this place terribly ~Alissom
