If you are a business, stay far far away from Columbia. They only offer a laughable .01% interest checking account. Online banking user interface is a nightmare, bill pay only sends checks and doesn't support electronic payments unless you get a manual approval done with multiple phone calls to the bank, and some branches can't even send wires because "we don't have staff working that has the ability to send a wire." One time their online system was broken for months and they charged me $50 an hour for them to download my own transactions simply because their system was broken and my CPA couldn't access the transactions...LIKE IT WAS OUR FAULT?!?! Its an absolute nightmare to run a business w/ this bank as a partner. I can't comment on personal accounts.

Since the takeover purchase of Pacific Continental to Columbia Bank the requirements for basic ACH Transfers, check cashing, (especially if you do not have an account with them), is so invasive. Not just the basic signature is needed—your phone number, two forms of ID, and your fingerprint as well. This is unbelievable. More than a dozen times I have also gone in to deposit business checks, etc. & each time I am helped by the teller named Jaycee I receive the coldest customer service experience. It’s to the point where, if I am helped by her, I cannot make eye contact. I am not sure what I did to receive this terrible customer service experience. This location should update their customer service etiquette, especially with new tellers. Columbia bank should revisit required documents that are associated with the FDIC. I will get service at another CB because of this.

On hold forever can get nothing accomplished. Then when you get there it's just as difficult to get anything done. I am switching banks.
