On 8/22/22, I took my two french bulldogs(Judah and Zuri) to Southeast Animal Hospital because they both had a snotty nose and internal sneezing. The vet prescribes them both cortisone shots and antibiotics, he never tells me what they had but when I called back they advised that it was an upper respiratory infection that was contracted at the doggy daycare from the previous week. The next day my smaller frenchie, Zuri, who is only 10 months old and 20lbs, threw up a total of 8 times due to the antibiotics. I looked at the antibiotics and Zuri was prescribed the higher mg amoxicillin at 250 mg, when it should’ve been prescribed to Judah who is 2 years old at 35lbs. Due to her throwing up excessively and not eating we had to go back to the vet where they switched Judah’s medicine to Zuris and gave Zuri a different antibiotic at a lower dosage (only 50 mg). The initial visit total was $238, you would think coming in the next day that the vet wouldn’t charge you because of their mistake with mixing up the medications. They actually charged us another $82 for Zuris new antibiotics and a cernia injection that was caused because they prescribed the dogs the wrong medications. I spoke to the manager about the situation and they didn’t want to agree to any type of refund or discount towards our visit nor did they want to own up to their mistakes as doctors. I have attached the initial medications vs the new medications showing the huge mistake they made with my frenchie’s medications. Southeast Animal Hospital used to be my go to but once a mistake like this happens causing harm to my pets I don’t feel comfortable bringing them anymore. Customer service also doesn’t seem to be a priority for Southeast Animal Hospital.

I have been taking my dogs here for a few years as walk ins and with appointments. My cat got bit my a dog and I called too let them know I was otw as a walk in. Receptionist told me they don’t take walk-ins and told me they had availability 4 days later. I have never had anyone turn an animal away. She seemed bothered she had to help me figure something out. Receptionist was short, rude and unhelpful.

Amazing staff very friendly. I have never met a vet that cares so much about every animal that comes in as if it is his own. We will be coming here for years to come.

My visit was fine but the doctor made a bizarre and grotesque comment I quote “if I cut you open would you be green inside.”At first I didn’t understand what he had said then he repeated it “ if I cut you open would you be green inside.” Extremely unsettling and disturbing. I will not be returning.

I'm a little upset. I'm a repeat customer for almost 2 years now. The front desk is friendly and Dr. Homer (he's ok, pros and cons) is acceptable. Yesterday I went in 15 minutes early to my appointment. They made me wait 90 minutes. I ended up having to leave, but what else irked me was that Dr. Homer wasn't even in the building. The backup vet was. I'm not a fan of hers, she came off as rude and did not listen to me last time I saw her (my dog has continuous skin problems that nobody here can really help me with) so I really needed continuity in seeing Dr. Homer for further troubleshooting. I feel like the vet office really needs to tell me ahead of time if the vet I pay to see isn't there. And also not make me sit for almost 2 hours past when they were supposed to see me.

Dr. Homer has always given good treatment for my pets. Unfortunately, last week's treatment to remedy my cat's dermatitis (a steroid shot) did not work and she has kept up the scratching for a week since. I paid $100 for that shot and two hours of wait time. Now the office tells me I'll need to go seek vet care someplace else until June 9 when the Doc gets back. So I'm left to frantically find another vet, with an available opening and pay again $$$ in an attempt to heal my pet. Her continued agony and the waste of my $100 is not sitting too well.

The staff are great. Everyone treated both my pups with care and the doctor is terrific. Went in for a UTI with my oldest dog and got it sorted out and treated promptly. Decided to bring in the new puppy for vaccines since I had a good experience and their packages are very affordable. You can tell they really care about your pets health.

This place is awesome! The vet tech was so super nice, calm, patient, helpful and caring! And the vet, Dr. Homer is the absolute BEST! He explained things to us, was super patient with our puppy, was so gentle and he is so wise. We enjoyed meeting him, speaking with him, and listening to his stories! We have now scheduled both of our doggies to go there! Highly recommend!

Such an awesome experience for our first time bringing our pets. The Vet techs and the Veterinarian were so friendly and explained everything very well. We plan on taking all of our pets here from now on. Pets names are Boodle Lou, Gus and Grandma. All Cats 😻🐾

I have went to this vet/storage locker about 6x now, and I can't figure out all these positive reviews with nice things to say about this place. Its confusing. The staff is nice, the exam room is clean. Thats about it. The doctor has rarley ever touched my dog. Its way over priced. 2x as much as Petco's thrive to give you an idea. The doctor in my opinion is the problem. He's short, rude, and really seems to not care. To me that is the worst part of this place. Most of the concerns I give to this doctor about whats going on with my dog have been overlooked. I had to take him to somewhere else. Very disappointed. Additionally, I have had to p[ay for multiple follow on exams, due to missed conditions that were brought to the doctors attention. He let my puppy suffer, so I am actually mad. Lots of better Vets in San Antonio that are cheaper too.
