Thoughtful, kind, attentive, and professional pharmacists and assistants here. Is it busy? Of course. Do you have to wait sometimes? Of course. But unlike a chain we recently transferred from, they actually answer their phone. I heard a man in the drive through curse out the pharmacist here due to their medicine not being ready, and also heard the pharmacist calmly say, “Please, sir, the person behind you has a very sick child who needs medicine. We are doing the best we can with yours. Please pull around and it will be ready in ___ minutes.” That sick child was one of mine; he had just had a seizure and needed to start an important medication. Please be kind, folks. You don’t know what medicines need to be mixed upon arrival or the story of the person behind/in front of you. Also consider that many people have switched from other swamped chains, and Hy-Vee is now swamped instead of them. Hy-Vee gets five stars from me because they handle “swamped” better than the other guys.

I was told 20 min for pickup. I came back 30 min later. Was told 20 min wait (Again!). I waited another HOUR sitting right there with the employees looking at me and watching the employees sometimes just standing around. After an hour, I asked how much longer? The pharmacist heard me and asked my name. I told her and she said "it's right here and been ready for a while." I nearly exploded but said absolutely nothing... I was so mad, if I had, it would not have been nice. This place is HORRIBLE!!!!! Follow up note: I see the reply below. I tried calling the number. It is only the general number for HyVee. Not for the pharmacy or management.

My meds are very cheap here. For people saying it takes forever and there is no one waiting, you need to understand the pharmacist is working on a ton of other prescriptions, following up with doctors, fixing their med errors that you don’t know about, and dealing with insurance. My issue is that I don’t understand their filling process. My dog’s vet called in 3 antibiotics yesterday morning. I called the pharmacy to make sure they received the prescriptions and they said they did. I specifically told them “take your time, I won’t be there until this evening”. I was not able to go until the next day at 3pm. Thank goodness I called first because I was told they were still not ready. I asked why, and was told they were filled at a “central location” and would be shipped to them by 6pm. I asked if it was because the medication was not in stock, and was told this is their process unless it’s a refill. This doesn’t makes sense to me. If you need an antibiotic dog or human, shouldn’t it be filled that day or at least some sort of communication with the customer? I just don’t understand their process. They should hand out some info as to how it works, because I’m perplexed. They probably are understaffed. Don’t blame the pharmacist. Blame the corporation. I’m a pharmacist and that’s why I don’t work retail. Now my poor puppy is still miserable.

Terrible. The pharmacy is always slow in filling and aren't nice when I go in to pick up medicine. They gave me the wrong medicine altogether! $80 worth of medicine and it wasn't even the right medicine. And they wouldn't take my insurance or GoodRX. Poor customer service! Don't go here

Yes they are understaffed and that is another story. Today I called and the pharmacy tech was super helpful. Went to the drive thru and the pick took time. I reminded myself they are super busy and are short staffed. I appreciate their hard work. Got my script with no problem and with a smile.

Every time I have had to fill prescriptions here, they take 30 minutes to even notice somebody is waiting in the drive through and when they finally come over, they don’t offer any sort of apology or anything. Then, 90% of the time they don’t have my medication in stock. The staff is super rude, inattentive, and incompetent.

I have read all of the negative reviews and I agree I believe they are probably badly understaffed. But they got four stars for this reason. I found out through a friend it’s not very publicized program by good RX has a membership program called good RX Gold $6-$10 monthly one person is $6 or you can add 5 more family or friends members for a total of $10 monthly then you look through the gold good RX app and it has all of the discounted prices for every pharmacy in the area that except gold RX which most of them do. It is amazing how much cheaper the prices are underneath even regular good RX prices you download the Gold good RX app you can compare prices. They’re all good but then Hy-Vee’s are usually 50 to 80% cheaper than their competitors.I get between five and seven prescriptions of month my bill at Walmart using regular discounts would always Be well over $100 monthly. Now I literally get all of my prescriptions filled the total bill with tax is $13.70 at Hy-Vee pharmacy with good RX Gold you only have to show them your card once they put in the system and you always get that price without asking. Recently got a prescription for some allergy spray just out of curiosity I checked other stores they wanted $40-$60 good old Hy vee $11.-well that’s enough of my free commercial but they may be understaffed and overwhelmed Believe me if you sign up for this program if you pay for your meds. You’ll have a lot more patience and understanding with the folks at the pharmacy.-Best of luck

Worst pharmacy I have ever been to. Always take forever, don’t have stuff filled, not ready when it’s supposed to be and what they indicate. I have had to go up there multiple times on several occasions because they don’t have my prescriptions ready when they say it will be. Because obviously I want to go to Hyvee twice on Saturday during my 48 hour weekend. Stay away, I am after this last terrible experience

I have called refills in multiple times to only come by and they don't have the medication in stock. And that is talking to an actual representative when I call the refills in. It'll be ready in an hour, may not actually be that day. Because when I go to pick it up, they have to order it. I love Hy-Vee, but the pharmacy is frustrating to deal with.

The staff are great, they always take care of everything. My mom had some potential drug interactions post surgery, they called the hospital twice and discussed with hospital staff. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. They get meds filled as timely as possible.
