Went to Autozone looking for a soldering iron as per their website. The 2 individuals being the counter did not have a clue what I was talking about so showed them a picture of what I was looking for. They had to look up their stock record and found one in stock but could not tell what aisle it was on.?!? I found it on a different aisle which I was pleased about as I needed to buy it but there was no appreciations from the staff.

Very helpful and quick. We went to change the battery and the person at the check out was very knowledgeable, honest and helpful. It was late evening and he still changed the battery quickly. Will definitely go back if a need arises.

Is one star the minimum? Can google allow 0 stars? I have visited this store for years and is a loyalty customer, since I live nearby, and almost all times I was a satisfied customer, and the staff were really kind and helpful. However, today (8/29/2011), I went to the store trying to do battery test, and if it is bad, I am going to replace it. A gentle man in gray shirt (I think he was the only one in gray shirt in the morning 10ish, and the new face I have first time seen in this store) helped me to test it and told me the battery is bad, so I decided to buy a new one. Once the transaction is done, he threw me a wrench and tell me to replace it by myself...... I hesitate and was about to do it by myself, but I asked before that why last time (3 years ago the same store) somebody helped me to replace it. Then the guy answered me "so you learned how to do it from last time, you can do it by yourself"...... what? I just saw a young staff helped another white customer to replace the battery the moment I went to the store, why have I been treated differently? race, color? Even if I was told "we are not doing this replace anymore or I can’t replace yours because some kind of policy blah, blah," I would not be this mad…… I can go to other place who sells battery, no problem, but I can't bear with how I was treated this morning. Took the picture of 3 phone numbers where I can complain. First called the "Store manager", then I found it is the same number in the store, and the exact guy who treated me badly pick up the phone call and told me the store manager is not here...... called "District manager" nobody answered. I definitely will continue to report even I won't buy anything from autozone anymore, please train your staff to be more professional and treat the customers equally regardless. PS: I went to Walmart just 2 mins away from this location. And surprisingly they sell 3 years warranty one with just $88 less than half price from here and provides free test, removal and install.
