14 Best department store in Houston, Texas (TX) 2024

So I'm not going to lie, I know a lot of folks have some critical reviews about this store, but I've been going here since 2003, and I its part of my Houston experience!! They have everything, as in you know how people say "Walmart has everything", these folks have everything!!! So best believe I still go here and will give them a good review!!! ~Jin

Fantastic location. Using the app to find things was incredibly accurate and helpful. The staff was very friendly and cheered up my shopping visit. I found what I needed in a clean, organized environment with more options and selection than I expected. I plan on visiting this location again! Only recommendation would be to somehow put a minimum speed on some of the shoppers walking in the lanes, but there isn’t much Target can do about that. :) ~Nate

Awful, just awful customer service. I left a battery charging for 1 hour, came back and the ticket printed out says I need a replacement. I have been waiting for more than 30 minutes for an associate to come and do an exchange. They have the battery in stock but no one to do the transaction. They called a team lead but still no one is coming. This is horrible customer service. If I could give Walmart zero stars, I definitely would. There was another customer waiting to get his keys so that he could go home and no one is coming to help out. Where are all the managers at? Does corporate need to know what is going on at this Walmart? Maybe we should give them a call and let them know how horrible their customer service is? Never again will I be purchasing or coming to this Walmart again. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 **UPDATE** The associate, Leticia, came back from wherever she was and said she couldn't do the exchange battery transaction because the register was closed. I asked to see if a manager can do it but she sent me to customer service. Patrice, a team lead, tried to help me but couldn't get the transaction to go through because it could only be done at the auto center. There was no manager available to the transaction. I left without being able to exchange the battery. Why don't they let anyone know that these types of transactions cannot be made after certain hours? Why are there no managers available to take care of these things? All I saw were employees walking around the store with their headphones on and not helping anyone out. How do they even allow this? Poor customer service. Poor management. ~Anell

Collectively everyone in the area knows this is the ghetto Walmart, but still the bathrooms here are in desperate need of repair/replacement. Toilets are toddler height, level with the bottom of the stalls & keep breaking away from the walls. At any given time maybe 1 of the 3 faucets at the sink might work, even then it only lets out a light trickle of water. ~Madi

Money center is located in the inner court not on the wall location if you know what I’m talking about. It takes awhile to get to the counter but I guess it depends on the customers. And when I got there I was told that money order is not working… they should have put the sign at least. Wasted 15 mins… Cheers 🥂 ~Mr.

I would like to invite all the employees from Walmart with dog face and with their smart.4ss answers “if you don’t see it, we don’t have it” to go and work at Amazon. There they don’t have to interact with any costumers. The costumers we don’t deserve their poor education,culture, and their missed values and manors when we’re going to the store. It’s unbelievable how each employee does what they want here, they act like they are the authority when they are not more than another every 2weeks paycheck. This lady I was doing the line to pay and she said “I’m closing no More. Go to the next cashier” obviously with her best attitude -*sarcasm* well I was doing the line there because I wanted to buy cigarettes, anyway I went to do the line in another cashier and then I saw the lady taking care of another costumer when she told me she was closed. But wait that human without any skill of costumer service and any decent behavior it’s the manager. Yes she is the MA NA GER. I would like to believe if she can manage her disgusting attitude and her abuse of power at work. Making the whole experience a nightmare. ~carlos

I went to my Neighborhood Wal-Mart and met the most Customer Service oriented, most pleasant, humble, smiling, kind and most adhered to, person in a long time at the Customer Service Desk. His name is (Charles Adewus) and he was fantastic. People like him mulipled by thousands like him is why Wal-Mart will always be successful... Thank You Charles. I will see you again. Asked a garden center employee if the registers were being used and he rudely responded NO with no explanation or concern at all. Greeter in the garden ceneter just stayed on her phone and didn't even greet me and my wife and after we said good morning to her. The front door greeter was very nice and courteous though. This was at 9 am in morning ~Oscar

This store has so many unique things that I cannot find anywhere else! I love to look at and buy stuff that aren’t always mass produced and this place has so much of that in every department you can think of. They have specialty item clothes, plates, dinner sets, toys… all unique! It’s set up so that each department is in a different building, but you walk there, but they’re all connected together. It’s really cool, you gotta see it to know what I mean. Anyway, totally worth checking out. If you’re looking for a gift that’s different and special, I would get it from this place. ~Jeremy
